In Hong Kong, every year there are approx. 900-1000 suicidal cases, which over average of  2 peoples kill themselves per day. Presently, there are nearly 100'000 persons suffering deep depression in HK which are the major cause to suicide. Samaritan Befrienders handles approx. 13'000 to 14'000 cases per year.

In 2006, the official numbers has raised over to 1187 cases; the suicidal cases among teenagers younger than 19 years old has raised nearly by double; and elder peoples rate is approx. 30% of the total cases....These numbers are not counting those who are presently suffering!
