苗圃助學長征2007貴州段 Long March 2007: promoting the yearly mass program to help those school in China.

『助學長征』是一項極具挑戰的步行籌款活動，於2004年由苗圃行動及中國青少年發展基金會合辦。沿著當年紅軍長征的路線，步行8,038公里，目標籌款2,000萬元以資助重建途經101個縣內的危校，並透過巨大的迴響把「中國人幫中國人」的助學精神植根內地。 為延續『助學長征』精神，我們在2006年舉辦了『助學長征 2006 - 四川段』。今年 2007， 我們再接再厲，舉辦『助學長征 2007 - 貴州段』。

When you are healthy and have basically everything in life, have you think about those who have nothing and suffering from many sickness?

Sept 2007, I volunteered for 'House for the Dying' in Kalighat Calcutta India, where humblely served those peoples at the edge of die and the poorest of the poor. The most amazing experience in my life.  

When you are eating a big steak in a fancy restaurant, do you think of these who can only eat one meal per day?

Every year more than 10 million children die of hunger and preventable diseases - that's over 30,000 per day and one every 3 seconds.

When you have a big caring family, do  you think of those children without parents because of AIDS?

Every year, there are nearly 11 millions of children who can't survive up to 5 years old; nearly 610'000 children die of AID and 540'000 new cases. (Unicef)

When you live in a comfortable house in a safe city, have you think of those who have lost the loved ones because of natural disasters?

Tuesday 6-Mar-2007, an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale (The US Geological Survey) shook some towns and districts in West Sumatra.  It was reported that 69 people have been killed, with around 3,000 to 5,000 internally displaced persons in Solok (Oxfam)

Have you ever heard the voice of someone calling for help because he is thinking of ending his suffering by ending his life?

In Hong Kong, there are over 1180 suicidal cases in 2006, an average above 3 persons kill themselves per day because of emotional suffering & depression and other reasons. (Samaritan Befrienders HK)
